:: ABOUT MONE' MUSEL ::
I am a self-taught, self represented artist with a passion for sculpting paint. I was born in Austin "Live Music Capitol of The World " Texas, where I've lived since. Amongst some of the most amazing artists, musicians, and personalities in the world, I've crafted my talent. It is here that I studied the art of filmmaking at the University of Texas at Austin; it is here that I now live my dream of working as a full time visual artist.
:: STYLE ::
My art is abstract... timeless...inspirational...it tells a story of the past, present and future. With an eye for contemporary design, my paintings are a fusion of modernism and rich "old world" charm inspired by my ongoing world travels.
Earth inspired colors and subtle traces of soft metallics adorn the surface, leading the eye to roam the endless textures for other hidden treasures.
Naturally, one wants to understand the image...looking for meaning...thus losing themselves in the art...this is a personal journey...one not unlike finding images in clouds....one just as meditational....this is the beauty of abstract art.

:: FINDING INSPIRATION ::
Creative inspiration can be found all around us. Boredom and frustration are emotional gems for the artistic spirit; it is right then, that the imagination becomes a fierce weapon towards survival for each and every one of us....as it always has been for me.
Growing up with very limited resources, I did not have much in the way of entertainment or the opportunity to travel. This turned out to be the greatest misfortune to happen to me as an artist, as creativity was my escape from a dim reality...my sole passport to anywhere. Quite fearlessly I roamed the streets of my own imagination.
Oh the places I went.
That little girl's restless curiosity to explore the unknown has never died. I promised her a permanent playground in my mind....a sanctuary. And promised that one day she would see the world.
Today I frequently pilgrimage to destinations world wide to broaden my mind and discover alternative cultures and perspectives...all while eating the occasional termite and napping by the cozy fireside of the local volcano. My artwork is heavily influenced by my travels and my desire to explore new horizons. Some of my strongest artistic inspiration has been found while trekking through the virgin rainforests of Central America or when strolling down the cobblestone streets of an ancient village rich in folklore. Whether I walk, ride or swim, it's always with a child's wonderment, gathering ideas and inspiration for my canvas.

I am now located in the East End Arts District of downtown Austin, Texas. The creative energy of this historical part of the city is astounding and contagious! With over 200 artists working in this area alone, it has become a hip and fascinating mecca of multi-cultural artists and artisans of every discipline.
I've recently turned a large three story house into a beautiful art space dedicated solely to Mone' Musel Fine Art. Here you will find tons of gorgeous, new artworks surrounded by tranquil waterfalls, rock gardens, stylish gallery spaces and lots of zen. My awesome new studio space is also located here. It is fantastic --twice the size as my old studio (for all of you folks who toured my old digs over the years) - and with an inspirational view of the Austin skyline.
I happily welcome you and yours to stop in and browse freely throughout the floors. Have a glass of wine, take a tour of the gallery and visit my working art studio in a relaxed, and muse inspiring environment: M-Su, by appt. Kids welcome.

Over 250 East Austin artists and galleries, including Mone' Musel Studio & Gallery, will open their doors to the public for two full days of behind the scenes fun. This is a free family-friendly event full of inspirational art, live music, special artist performances and just plain groovy...a "must do" for any art lover or collector.
